Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild is honored to present the Women of Visions, Inc. 45th Anniversary Exhibition in the Kerr Gallery, celebrating one of the nation’s most enduring and impactful collectives of Black women visual artists.

Co-founded in 1981 in Pittsburgh, Women of Visions, Inc. has spent more than four decades creating space, opportunity, and visibility for African American women artists. What began as a response to limited access in the traditional art world has grown into a nationally recognized organization whose members have contributed to hundreds of exhibitions across the country and internationally. Through exhibitions, education, mentorship, and community engagement, the collective continues to uplift artists and audiences across generations.

This anniversary exhibition showcases the breadth and depth of the collective’s work, featuring a dynamic range of media including painting, fiber art, collage, mixed media, printmaking, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and three-dimensional works. Together, these pieces reflect both individual artistic voices and a shared commitment to community, cultural expression, and artistic legacy.

Recognized in 2022 as a Cultural Treasure by the Ford Foundation and the Heinz Endowments, Women of Visions, Inc. continues to shape and preserve a vital narrative within American art history.
