Lailonny Morris is a Brooklyn-born, Pittsburgh-based singer-songwriter, nurse, and vocal coach whose artistry lives at the intersection of music, healing, and love. She shares, “My greatest joy comes from witnessing those unforgettable moments when students surprise themselves — when their eyes widen in disbelief after hitting a note they never thought they could reach... It’s not just about the music, it’s about helping young Black artists realize the power and potential that’s already within them.”
Soprano Chantal Braziel is known for the beauty, passion, and magnitude of her voice. With a Master’s in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s from Saint Vincent College, she has performed both locally and internationally, including appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, River City Brass Band, and Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. Chantal made her Metropolitan Opera debut in the Grammy Award-winning production of Porgy and Bess and continues to be a leading voice in the preservation of Pittsburgh’s historic National Opera House. Her artistry and advocacy, combined with her work as a teaching artist, make her one of Pittsburgh’s most inspiring musical figures.
In preparation for the show, ATC students had the honor of participating in a workshop led by Pittsburgh jazz legend Etta Cox, joined by students from Hope Academy. In this session, Etta shared her tools for captivating an audience through song, coached individual performers, and offered timeless advice that will resonate with these young artists for years to come.
