This summer, Alumni Theater Company brings the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Once On This Island to Pittsburgh’s Cultural District in partnership with Pittsburgh Public Theater.
Rooted in folklore and passed down through generations, this beloved tale invites audiences into a world that is joyful, poetic, and deeply human, reminding us of the power of the stories we carry with us.
Join Alumni Theater Company (ATC) in telling the story of Ti Moune, a fearless young girl who dares to cross the boundaries of class, culture, and even the gods themselves in pursuit of love. Guided by powerful forces and driven by an unshakable spirit, her journey unfolds into a moving story of sacrifice, courage, and devotion against all odds.
Filled with warmth, wonder, and unforgetting music, this production features 30 members from ATC's Teen and Professional Ensembles and is directed by Monteze Freeland (recently seen in Primary Trust). Once on This Island is a celebration of storytelling itself and a reminder that any voice can shape a better world.
This production is also a major milestone for ATC. Our young artists will train and perform alongside industry professionals in a union-adjacent production environment, gaining career-ready experience while performing on one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic stages. Get your tickets today!
